Genes In A Box

Bioinformatics & Genomics: Research Scientist

Adam, NSW

The task asked students to select, research and produce a report on a genetic disease. Students then had to respond to a scenario about their chosen disease as if they were “genetic counsellors”.

Adam produced a sophisticated and digestible report on Li-Fraumeni Syndrome that included insight into what it is and its impacts. The counselling advice was well thought out and showed a lot of critical thinking which was made obvious by the supporting ‘punnet square’ sketches that effectively illustrated the content.

Skills Developed: Critical Thinking, Information Literacy & Decision Making.
